Netgear R6900 - Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router User Manual (en)

Make sure that the WiFi settings match the requirements for the WiFi repeating function.
For you to use the WiFi repeating function, the WiFi security option must be set to None and the router cannot
use the auto channel feature. However, if you want to use security, the only type of security that is supported
with the WiFi repeating function is WEP legacy security, which requires the 2.4 GHz radio band to function in
the Up to 54 Mbps mode.
Select ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless Repeating.
The Wireless Repeating Function page displays.
Select either the Enable Wireless Repeating Function (2.4GHz b/g/n) check box or the Enable Wireless
Repeating Function (5GHz a/n/ac)
 check box.
Select the Wireless Base Station radio button.
To prevent WiFi clients from associating with the repeater and allowing LAN client associations only, select the
Disable Wireless Client Association check boxes.
You can leave the check boxes cleared if you prefer WiFi clients to be able to associate with the repeater.
In the Repeater MAC Address 1 through 4 fields, enter the MAC addresses for the access points that must
function as repeaters.
