In the confirmation message that appears, click 

Erase.

Formatting is complete when the progress bar disappears from view, the

 box shows

10. On the desktop, select the 

LEAF-CF volume.

11. Select 

File > Get Info.

12. In the Leaf-CF Info window, ensure that 

Format shows 

Macintosh PC 

Exchange (MS-DOS)

.

13. Close the Disk Utility application.

14. Drag the 

LEAF-CF volume to Trash.

Formatting in Windows

1.

Insert the compact flash card in a card reader.

On the desktop, click 

My Computer.
